Pendant for Luna
The birth of Baby Luna is celebrated in this pendant. Her father is an wonderful Artist and Printmaker in California – he designed each side to honour his little girl.
The Front image comes from a linocut that he did as a demonstration for one of his art classes, which was exploring Indigenous cultural imagery throughout the world. This design is based the Aztec representation of the moon found in pre-Columbian codices. The back is a stylized ‘L’ – for Luna.
Such an honour, and privilege, to be involved in making these special pieces in honour of an already well-loved new life. I am so happy to think of these being worn, by people celebrating this new little person!
The piece is 3cm long & represents 11 hours of carving time.
